Welcome to the official site of MARA's Library.

We provides various services such as borrowing and returning books, and references like books, newspaper, magazine. Emerald Insight, an online database system is also available for users' access to academic journals in the fields of management, business, education, library studies, health care and engineering. We also have red spot collections such as theses and annual reports in the Archive Centre.

Objectives

  • Develop a library collection adhering to the highest standards in catering to the needs of current and future users.
  • Provide complete, organized and updated library information to users in a conducive environment.
  • Provide infrastructure based on information and communication technology to facilitate and support knowledge acquisition and life-long learning.
  • Support SPMA and MQA requirement.

Client Charter

With great responsibility, we undertake to ensure that:-

  • Circulation services shall be completed within 1 minute.
  • Late notice of returning books shall be issued within the same day.
  • Returned library collections are shelved twice a day to promote quick and easy access.
  • Application for book acquisition shall be processed within 1 working day after the form is received.
  • Library collections shall be deposited within 2 weeks after received.

Rules and Regulations

  • Library allowed only for MARA's staffs and students.
  • A valid MARA staff or MARA student Identity card must be presented when borrowing any materials.
  • Breach of any library's regulations may result in the suspension of borrowing privileges.
  • Any change of personal information should be informed to the library's Staff at the Circulation Counter immediately.
  • All library's materials must be properly charged out at the Circulation Counter before the materials can be brought out from the library. Any infringement of this regulation may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Only library circulating materials are normally allowed to be charged out.
  • All charged out materials must be returned to the Circulation Counter on or before the due date. All charged out books may not be returned by mail.
  • Any defect, loss or damaged MKC material must be reported immediately to the library's staff on duty. Borrowers shall be held responsible for any loss, damage or disfigurement by writing or other marks while material is being charged, and shall be required to pay full cost of replacing of repairing such materials.
  • MARA staff members are responsible for returning all charged out materials before cessation of employment at library. MARA Students must return all charged out materials on withdrawal or on graduation from MARA Institutions.

Open Shelf
  • The open stack collection consists of books and monographs of various subjects acquired to support knowledge, learning, teaching and research from all IPMa's.

Reference
  • Reference sources such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, directories and resource guides are available for internal reference only.

Red Spot in Archive
  • Collection of Theses, MARA History, Annual Report and Research Grants.

Magazine and Newspaper
  • Collection of local and overseas magazine and newspaper.

Online Resources
  • The Library subscribes to Emerald database can be accessed via the Library website.

LIBRARY PRESS DISPLAY by PRESS READER
